Last January I participated in the Special Olympics Colorado Polar Plunge Splash & Dash event in Denver’s City Park, and it was a fun and great event supporting an amazing cause (and it definitely lived up to its name – it was SO COLD that day!). This year’s Polar Plunge series has already kicked off, and the Denver Polar Plunge was yesterday at City Park and the Denver Zoo (as it coincided with International Polar Bear day, plunge participants got free zoo membership and walked right by the polar bear exhibit before taking their plunge). The final plunge of the season is on March 5th at the Boulder Reservoir, and sources at Special Olympics Colorado say the Boulder event is one of the most eclectic and exciting events of the series.
