I was so excited when, after an early morning hike at Chautauqua a few months after moving to Boulder, we took a left instead of a right out of the Chautauqua parking lot to venture and see what would happen if we headed west on Baseline. Continuing onto Flagstaff Road, we found sites and views of Boulder that we hadn’t known existed and saw Boulder quite literally through a whole new lens. It led to a history lesson, the finding of a bounty of beautiful spots at which to enjoy a travel mug of coffee while perched on a rock or bench, and the discovery of one of my favorite Boulder sites, the Sunrise Amphitheater.
